The Curriculum

Our curriculum marries universal human rights values with the philosophy of the whole child development to offer your child and family thought and emotional provoking exercises toward a life that is happy, fulfilling, and purposeful. The curriculum consists of ten units, broken into four lessons, each 30 to 40 minutes in length. Your child will get the most out of the curriculum by starting from Unit 1 and engaging with each subsequent unit through Unit 10.


  • Unit 1

    Why does the Quran give so much importance to the concept of peace and social justice? What is our obligation to create safe and peaceful communities regardless of people’s faith or non-faith? How do other religions express peace?

  • Unit 2

    What is the God in you? What are the meaning and origins of the word Allah? How is God closer to you than your jugular vein? What is the purpose of prayer? How and why do other faiths pray?

  • Unit 3

    What was his background? What about his character & his message still resonates today? Was he a feminist for his time? Who was the first female imam appointed by the Prophet? What was the Medina Constitution & the covenant with Christians to protect them “till the end of time”?

  • Unit 4

    What does it mean to behave honestly and with good intentions? How and why do we avoid racism, rumors and lies, bullying, and a sense of superiority over others? What is the “ummah”? Can it be inclusive of all of humanity rather than Muslim only? What are good role models?

  • Unit 5

    How does freedom of expression relate to faith or non-faith, the arts, music, clothing, etc.? What is the importance of critical thinking? How do you express yourself and your beliefs respectfully?

  • Unit 6

    What does it mean to respect nature? What is our responsibility and what can we do to be caretakers of the earth? How do the things we buy affect the environment? Why is clean air important to inner peace?

  • Unit 7

    How is each individual special? How did God make us unique? What are examples of uniqueness in gender, sexuality, race, culture, and religion?

  • Unit 8

    What does equality mean? How can we treat each other fairly? What do you do when you see someone not being treated fairly? How do you become a peacemaker?

  • Unit 9

    How can we dream big to become better people? What can we learn from the early Muslims’ contributions to science, math, the arts, architecture, and food? How can we let these creations inspire us?

  • Unit 10

    What does supporting social justice mean? How can we be responsible citizens and participate in democracy? What skills do we need to achieve these goals? Why are compassionate listening, honesty, kindness, and positivity important?
