Our Mission

The Inclusive Islam Curriculum rooted in human rights marries the Universal human rights values with the Whole Child Development methodology, one that provides Muslim children with a spiritual foundation, inculcating values that are inclusive, loving and compassion, the foundation to living a life that is productive, fulfilling and purposeful, and for the good of humanity.

Ani and Shaleena are two Muslim mothers living in the West who realized that there is no such curriculum catered to progressive families, particularly for children in mixed faith families or children with same-sex parents.

For Ani, it was a necessity to create a curriculum that encompasses true Islamic values like inclusivity, compassion, and acceptance to share the positive impact Islam can have. That, coupled with the many interfaith Muslim marriages she’s designed and officiated since 2006, the unanswered question is, where do the children go for an Islamic curriculum that is respectful of the non-Muslim parent?

For Shaleena, bringing her early child development expertise to an Islamic human rights rooted curriculum that centers the child is her way to ensure that future generations are equipped to making the world a more inclusive and compassionate place. It was important to her to develop a curriculum that created a safe place for children to explore, discuss, challenge and form their own opinions and values.

What we hope for are for parents to learn with their child/ren. As the saying goes, families that pray together stay together, well we believe, families who learn together will build a loving unbreakable bond.

Together we hope parents will find our methodology and human rights framing a refreshing approach to raising your child in an inclusive worldview, a lifelong openness to the questioning of belief and tradition, a sincere acceptance of differences, and deep love and respect for all of God’s creation.
